Constitutional Amendment No. 1 of 1976 deleting Article 142 from the Provisional Constitution 



 

 

Amendment No.(1) of 1976  

The Federation Supreme Council,
After perusing the U.A.E Temporary Constitution which has been applicable since the Fifteenth day Shawwal 1391 Hijri, Corresponding to the Second day December 1971, and the Defense Supreme Council Resolution No.(1) of 1976 on the unification of the UAE armed forces, and to achieve the country's top interests.
Resolved:

Article one
The provision of article (142) of the UAE Temporary constitution is revoked to be that the country shall have the sole right to establish land, sea and air armed forces.

Article Two
This constitutional amendment shall be applicable as from the date of issuance thereof and published in the official gazette.
