Ministerial Council for Services discusses implementation of strategic medical reserve plan

The Ministerial Council for Services discussed on Sunday the measures taken so far to implement the strategic medical plan, whereby the State would acquire the necessary strategic medical stockpiles to respond rapidly to emergencies and meet the needs.

Held at the presidential palace under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services, the meeting comes within the framework of the strategic directions of the State to address public affairs and good management.

The strategic medical reserve is one of the basic components of the State's health security that makes it capable of responding rapidly to emergencies and contributes to ensuring the continuity of the community health services.

The Council also reviewed the memorandum regarding the conditions and regulations for the GCC citizens to own private health and pharmaceutical facilities. It aims to encourage investments within the Gulf region and strengthen the health sector system in the UAE.

It also reviewed the final accounts of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and Zayed University for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2014. The Council was also briefed on the recommendations of the Federal National Council on the amendment of Article 145 of the Federal Law No. (28) of 2005 concerning personal status, in addition to a number of other topics on its agenda.
