Ministerial Development Council discusses advanced mechanisms for management of strategic food reserve

Chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Development Council held today its first physical meeting after the latest formation of the UAE Government and following a series of remote meetings.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Mansour asserted that the UAE government is able to create and adopt innovative work methods that understands the current circumstances and prudently deals with the evolving situations.

The meeting reviewed the updates on the decision aiming to enhance the strategic food reserves and ensure the availability of essential commodities. The council discussed advanced mechanisms for management of the strategic food reserve and reviewed a number of initiatives that align with the UAE food security strategy.

The council also discussed a study on the premarital medical examination with the aim to focus on hereditary diseases to ensure the health of all family members and enhance the country’s competitiveness in this field.

The Ministerial Development Council discussed the installation of fire alarm in residential units for both citizens and residents as a means of protecting lives and possessions.

Furthermore, the council discussed several agreements among GCC countries in different sectors including customs, economy and trade to enhance cooperation and accelerate the recovery process.
